The Re-Read Challenge: 2015 Edition

So I have been a silent follower of Kelly’s over at Belle of the Literati for over a year now. I saw her exciting co re-reading challenge with fellow blogger Hannah at So Obsessed With and I absolutely had to join! I love re-reading books! I probably re-read a book once or twice  a year.

Two years ago, I re-read the entire Mediator series by Meg Cabot. It’s one of those series’ that I adore and will most likely re-read for the rest of my life. This year I want to commit to re-reading 12 books; 1 book per month.

So why am I doing this, Emma?

Well, I just couldn’t pass up an opportunity like this! Books that you absolutely love are meant to be re-read. That is why you keep them on your shelf and decide not to donate them. I also like the fact that I will be doing this challenge with other like-minded people. I love the fact that I can share my enthusiasm with others! Also, I was probably going to re-read this year so why not sign-up?

What are the rules?

Kelly and Hannah make it real simple for us! There are hardly any rules to join, which makes it 10x easier to join the cavalry! From their respected blogs:

Honestly, we don’t want to have a lot of rules either. We want it to be as easy as possible for anyone to participate, including ourselves. All you have to do is write an intro post stating WHY you want to join and WHAT books you’re hoping to re-read. Then, add it to the sign up linky. After that, just write a post each month recapping what you re-read that month and add it to the linky we’ll post on our blogs each month. That’s it! You’ve earned re-read bragging rights for the month. We’ll explain it all below, but trust us… it’s not difficult.

Easy-peasy. See?

Do you have to review your re-reads?

Absolutely not! Kelly and Hannah give us an option to give a mini-review of our re-read book of the month:

Don’t want to take time away from review books and get behind on posts for your blog? We don’t either! If you feel like re-reading will set you back, you could write a re-read review. This portion is optional, of course, and not required to participate in the challenge or qualify for the giveaways. But if you’re interested, highlight your re-reads with a re-read review. For example, we’ll be answering these questions:

WHEN I First Read

WHAT I Remember

WHY I Wanted to Re-Read

HOW I Felt After Re-Reading

WOULD I Re-Read Again

I just absolutely love the idea of this challenge! And I am so ready to feel the same (or maybe different) emotions I felt the first time around reading a book. It’s quite exciting to share my thoughts with a community of people who get my bookish ways. And I am so thankful for people like Kelly and Hannah who come up with rad ideas for us bookish nerds.

To sign up, head on over to Hannah’s blog and link up your introduction post.
Here are some of the books I plan on re-reading this year. The list is not complete and may subject to change based on my reading whims.

Happy Reading!

With love always,

Emma
